iRiver iHP-1X0 mSATA SSD drive mod

I can add the Toshiba HG6 THNSNJ512GACU 512GB mSATA SSD to the list of compatible cards for the iHP series. I've just put one in my trusty iHP-140 and happily loaded half of it with music files. It does need a relatively full charge to boot up. If the battery voltage is lower than 3.8 V, Rockbox will report an ATA-11 error. Other than that it operates very sweetly. I've configured it for optical out into a seperate DAC/amplifier. I haven't tried this card in my H320 yet but am not anticipating a problem.

Hi Y2kse, Michaelbowe,
did you have success and does the player run smooth?
I am curious because I have 240gb Toshiba HD in my 140 and thought about upgrading to 480. Currently I am using about 200Gb,
With my current 240gb HD I have the problem that if I use the database the device gets very slow. If I just forward to the next title this sometimes takes 30secs. Same if I go back to the files and select another album. This also takes sometimes more than 1 minute until it plays! I have the 7pre4 and the version 3.11. Higher versions cause the player to hang up during boot.
Without having the database built the performance is not great either but ok. Or maybe my settings are incorrect?
Thanks for answers

The file-transfer I'd mentioned actually failed, so I had to start over with a reformat. Since then, I've only moved a few GB of data. I'd noticed a few-second delay on track switching if I hadn't played that particular file, but generally track switches were instantaneous. I'm on nightly build b681e93-141222.

A follow-up post to my experience with the Corsair M500 480 GB. I've just experienced my third instance of file system corruption, so I'm going back to the Toshiba MK8025GAL hard drive.

Did anyone tried Crucial M550 or MX200 series mSATA SSDs?
