build rockbox in linux mint 14?

sorry if this is off topic,  as i am new to building rockbox, and sorry if this is a stupid question.

is it possible to compile rockbox using Linux mint 14 as a host environment?

it should work because Linux mint is based on Ubuntu.

It is entirely possible.

Step 1: Get the source off Git
Step 2: Run tools/rockboxdev.sh as root
Step 3: Get a Snickers and wait
Step 4: Make a build folder
Step 5: Run tools/configure in the build folder
Step 6: Run make in the build folder
Step 7: Rockbox Heaven!

Now i know how to build on linux mint.

i will build a test build later on.
