Shuffle without Repeat

(1/1)

RodgerE1:
I'm new to Rockbox, so forgive me if this has been discussed, I searched and couldn't find what I was looking for.

I have a Sansa Fuse Plus and I was wondering is Rockbox has the capability of shuffle without repeat?

What i'm talking about is that lets say you have 2,000 songs.
Pick a song at random from the 2000.
Play it.
If it's played or skipped, put it in a "played song" holder and remove from list.
Pick a song at random from the 1,999.
Do this until number of songs is 0.

I have never had an MP3 player that could do this.

Any comments, suggestions, ideas?

Thank You,

Rodger

AlexP:
Yes, Rockbox can do this.  It can either do a proper shuffle of a playlist, or if you queue the files they will be removed when played (you can shuffle the playlist).

I am unsure how to parse your question. Whether you mean:

Can Rockbox shuffle a playlist without playing any given track more than once?
or
Can Rockbox shuffle a playlist and not repeat the the playlist when the list is exhausted?

Whether or not I truly understand the question is largely irrelevant, however, as the answer to both versions is still yes. Rockbox will only ever play each track once in a shuffled playlist, and unless a repeat playback option is enabled playback will finish after the playlist is exhausted, if 'repeat shuffled' is enabled, the playlist will be reshuffled and repeated.

This one:

"Can Rockbox shuffle a playlist without playing any given track more than once?"

One playlist, play each song randomly once until all songs are played.
