i hope someone can help me with my old ihp120

i found my old ihp120 therefore i need a new player and all available are crappy  or not payable.
I start to remember my old friend the ihp-120 the best one i ever have...

i heared about rockbox so i want to test it, but i have only the old 1.30E firmware and doesn't find the right hex file for this.
So how can update to a version where the hex is available? Or can i made a update with the hex?

Next point new battery, anyone know a seller or producer of  a suitable battery...
is there any limitation to the disc? i though about a 1.8 128gb sdd, with msata to zif converter  or a direct zif one depends on the prices...

any tip is welcome

I've never heard of a 1.30 firmware version for the H120. Rasher has firmware files for the H100 / H300 players mirrored: http://rasher.dk/rockbox/iriver-firmwares/
You need to update your firmware. It doesn't matter much to which version you update if the player accepts the firmware. When updating I would always update to the latest though (1.66 in this case)

okay i have a big problem with rockbox old hdd and battery it works but with ssd no more

Depending on what "player stops" exactly means I suspect a dead battery here.

mhm no i buy a new battery charge it test it with hdd -> work
exchange hdd with sdd -> player only starts with powerplug
change back to hdd -> starts  > :'(
i use ja kingspec KSD-CF18.6-128MS

i test it again battery now both cases don't work
i check the battery voltage noload 4.07
at the board i measure just 0.38V
is this a problem on the boad or more ab battery problem

okay you was right it is the battery it has i massive voltage drop as sone the current rise to high with the old one it works...

I don't have a H120 but I have a H140. Upgraded to 120GB and 2200mah battery.

As for battery and hard drive, need to make sure the same thickness.

For adaptor, misticrivier forums had tiny adapters. Pretty expensive at £18 each though. Most are just too bulky meaning you have to remove the blue padding, this one fitted without any removal of the blue padding. PATA to cable (ZIF) as PATA is now phased out
