VU meter help?

Hi, how can i add a vu meter, how does it all work and is it possible to customize it?
Is it possible to split up the channels and get them vertical?
My idea is to have the left channel on the left side of the screen and the right on the right side.

And how does this work? Can a vu meter also be done with a bmp file?

You want peak meter.  All the info should be on that page.

Yes, see the page I linked - there are different tags for each channel, and you can use them as bar tags.
