how to get the wps screen in the simulator?

I just started working with the simulator and can't get the play screen to work.
Do i need to play an mp3 with it?

I got it a little closer now... i copied a wrong file but now with a valid mp3 it shows an error message that the mp3.codec is not a valid w32 file.
What can i do? At this moment i cannot work with the simulator.....

where did you get mp3.codec from?

It's from the .rockbox/codec/ map.

There's no mp3.codec file in that folder. That isn't even a valid .codec file.

There, is, however, a file called mpa.codec, which looks to be what handles MPEG audio (which MP3 is).

Yeah, it works the same as on device.  Play a file and you end up at the while playing screen.

Correct.  Win32 files are programs that are run by Windows.  Rockbox is not Windows, therefore its files are not Windows files.

Did you compile the sim yourself or download a precompiled build?

Pre compiled. It was the zip file...

What exactly did you download and how exactly did you install it?

I downloaded the zip containing the executable, dll and .rockbox map with all files.
I have copied it to my desktop.

main map contains the executable and dll
then there is the simdisk map containing the rockbox maps.

It's all working great except the playscreen.
