Creating output file failed & extraction failed: Sansa Clip Zip

Thrasymachus:
I got the following error:

Creating output file failed
Extraction failed!

--- End quote ---

I was using Rockbox Utility 1.3.1.

saratoga:
Is the Zip writable?  IIRC linux will sometimes refuse to write to disks if it detects an error in the fat32 table.

Thrasymachus:
I tried creating a folder and deleting it before I tried to update Rockbox and it went fine, but I still got that error from RockboxUtility. However, from time to time I do get the problem that it is mounted read only lately. I use pmount to mount.

bluebrother:
I suspect filesystem errors. Please check the filesystem, the try again (fsck.vfat)

Thrasymachus:
I ran fsck correctly at least I think, but I got an error at the end:

--- Quote from: bash console ---nikos@nikospc:~/movies$ sudo fsck.vfat -a /dev/sdb
dosfsck 3.0.13, 30 Jun 2012, FAT32, LFN
FATs differ but appear to be intact. Using first FAT.

After I tried to run Rockbox Utility again, but I still received the same errors(Creating output file failed & extraction failed). I tried creating a new directory, but bash told me it was read only.

So I unmounted, and remounted the Clip Zip again. After that I could create and delete a directory and I added files to listen to. So I ran Rockbox Utility yet again and got the same errors. When I tried to create another folder on my device once again:

--- Quote from: bash ---nikos@nikospc:/media/sdb$ mkdir Test
mkdir: cannot create directory `Test': Read-only file system
nikos@nikospc:/media/sdb$ mkdir: cannot create directory `Test': Read-only file system

--- End quote ---

Now I am getting somewhere on this. Apparently Rockbox Utility is somehow turning my mounted Clip Zip to read only. Maybe it does not play well with pmount?
