Creating the all.m3u or root.m3u playlist on the newer RockBox stable build ipod

(1/1)

Rave:
Hello,

I apologise if this has been asked before, but I have searched the forum and Google but have yielded no results!

I am looking to create a root/all playlist with all the music on my player in.

This used to be a fairly straight forward process, but since upgrading I'm having no luck :(

It used to be a case of going to the music folder and clicking "create playlist here" and boom, a playlist with everything in it.
Even the online manual eludes to this, though I believe it hasn't been updated since the playlist option in the main menu was replaced by playlist catalogue.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

I have an ipod video 80GB running rockbox stable 3.1.2

Thanks,

Kai.

Ok,

I think i have it figured out:

From the main screen, use the "files" menu to browse to your "music" (or whatever you called it) folder, enter it, then go back to the main screen, once there click and hold on the "playlist catalogue" option to get the "playlists" view, then click on create playlist to create your root/all playlist of all your files, then save the playlist by pressing the "play" button.

This seems to have worked, however it seems that it is not adding all the files to this playlist and seems to stop for me at around 4000 or so.

Is there a setting to get it to include all the files in the directory in the playlist that is creted, i have found an option that mentions maximum number of files allowed in playlist and set it to maximum, but that doesnt seem to have worked.

Again, any help appreciated.

Thanks,

Kai.

***Solved***

The files are all being picked up now.
