Scrolling text....can I turn it off?
« on: January 13, 2013, 11:19:00 PM »
Basically, scrolling text in title/artist/album lines annoys me. Is there any way I can turn it off, and just have the words stationary, even if it cuts off the right side?

You would need to edit the theme(s) that you use in order to do this.

Remove any instances of "%s" that you find therein. There is no setting to enable/disable this.

Oh, I can't believe I didn't think of that. Thanks!

Is there a way to dynamically change font size so there is no scrolling? If a line is bigger than the screen size, to change the font size so to fit excactly... Or is a way for a text to break in two lines if is doesn't fit in the screen size? I am asking because I want to make skin for listening classical music and usally the track titles are long....

Not trivially, no.

I can think of an approach that may work...but it is dead ugly, and needs me to test it before I commit to saying it would work for sure. One immediate problem that springs to mind is that every font that may or may not get used would need to be preloaded, which is very wasteful.

Keep watching the thread in case I get inspired, but I make no promises.

Yeah, I thought about splitting a title into two lines for one of my themes but I couldn't figure it out. Presumably there would have to be some conditional that if x title went over x number of characters then it would carry over onto the next line. I have no idea how to to do that since I'm apparently only good at cannibalizing other people's work. :D
