Sansa Fuze V2 back-light blinking.

(1/1)

Reece:
I often listen to audio books at night, and I have the back-light time out after one second as to not waist battery. When I am listening to an audio book, (the LCD is off) and it go's to the next track the back-light briefly comes on, and then go's off. This waists my battery at night, so I put it on hold, and the back-light does not come on. But when I take it off hold the back-light starts blinking, it dims and brightens repeatedly, as if its making up for each time the light did not come on at track change. And the only way I can get it to stop is to either change the LCD settings or to turn the player off and then on again. This has become very annoying. It happens most of the time, but some times it doesn't, so its unpredictable. And I don't know what conditions trigger it.
(excuse the lack of detail, I am in a hurry to get somewhere and don't have much time to write this.)

gevaerts:
Do you have the "caption backlight" setting on?

Reece:
Ahh. Yes I do. I remember turning that on to see what it was. I couldn't figure it out and must have forgotten to turn it off. What does caption back-light do? Does it make my LCD turn on at track change?

gevaerts:
I don't know, but the manual might say.
