I just found this thread by chance and find it very interesting.
From 2010 until now I've been using the "ZIF HDD,SSD to 1.8 inch TOSHIBA type converter, zender" and a MK2431GAH hdd (240GB).
Unfortunately the zif/ide converter got somehow broken yesterday. The cheapest way to fix that problem would be to just buy a new converter, but as I couldn't find the one yesterday, I was looking for alternatives.
Alternatives that bypass that annoying adpater hassle.
So far I found two options (that might already be known, but I'll mention them anyway):
1. A SSD with ide 50 pin connector. Unfortunately only available up to 240GB and a little pricy.
1.8" PATA MX-NANO 50 SSD series:
http://www.mx-technology.com/en/product/ssd2.php?sid=52. A CF card case with ide 50 pin connector. The case isn't that pricy, but the cards sure are.
But the real reason I replying to this thread is because michaelbowe wanted to report back on the 1tb ssd he had ordered but I can't find a post that mentions if it works or not - and I'd really like to know. A H140 with 1tb, that would be awesome! FLAC sure takes a lot of space!
[Edit]
I just found out that michaelbowe opened a new thread to answer the 1tb question, so nevermind.
