Sansa Fuze v1: FF and rewind with sound possible?

There does not seem to be a way to do that simple task. Why is that? Too CPU intensive? I would be great to get the standard reduced-volume feedback that our old-school CD players give us when fast-forwarding or rewinding the music.

Any technical reason why this is not included?
