Running on external power

(1/1)

rafafel:
I have broken the battery on a sansa clip plus (left it in the washing machine). I even cut it off entirely, now the clip only works when I plug the usb cable to a power source. However, with rockkbox, it keeps shutting off after some seconds. I can switch it on again just by clicking on the power button. This doesnt happen with the original firmware (when I dual boot on it, I can listen to music for a long time). Does rockbox sometimes block the power coming from the usb and switch to the battery, even for a very short time? Could it "voluntarily" trigger the shutdown because it sees the battery empty? Is there something I can do to debug this ?

saratoga:
You probably need to provide the right voltage across the battery terminals to avoid the low battery shutoff (~4v).  That or else go through the power management driver and disable the battery voltage ADC.
