rockbox on last IPod calssic!? hows it possible?

Hi guys,
hope everything is fine for all in these Xmas days!
One question. I'm aware that according to the rockbox site last generation Ipod Classic are not "rockboxable", but I had a discussion with a guy who was telling me that he has a friend who rockboxed an IPod classic bought few days ago in an apple store, so it must be the last release of Ipod classic I presume (definitely it was not a special deal, not an older IPod). Is he wrong? I don't think that Ipod was rockboxed, or am I missing something? I checked on this site but I'm quite sure it's not possible!

We actually list devices here: Rockbox.org

The classic is on that list although the port is complicated to install.

It runs fine on the latest iPod classic I know because that is what I currently have Rockbox running on. 8)
