Problem: When I boot RB on my ClipZip I get the folowing
“Loading Firmware
Length: 97858
Checksum: 3BE9BA
Model Name: clpzp
Loading Rockbox.
Sum: 3BE9BC3
Bad Checksum”
and then
“Boot 4.0”
after that it tells me to “Plug USB cable” and stays there.
Backround: I installed Rockbox about a month ago (via the installer) when I first got the clipzip, and I never had a problem with it. That is, until recently. Some songs I’d get to a certain point and it’d skip the song, same point every song; when tried on the OF the song’s audio would die for like .1 seconds (or it’d skip that section, can’t tell) at those selfsame points. Other times on RB I’d get a loud annoying buzzing sounds for a few seconds. In all cases the problem files seemed to be .flac’s more often than .mp3’s Sometimes when I booted RB it’d also give me an error (can’t remember the error) and I’d have to restart. One day rebooting just stopped working.
What I’ve tried to do: I uninstalled and reinstalled RB with the installer, multiple times. That didn’t work. I reformatted the clipzip and installed with the installer. That didn’t work so I did it manually following the guide (
http://download.rockbox.org/daily/manual/rockbox-sansaclipzip.pdf). Problems persist.
Note: It might be a hardware problem, I've dropped it once or twice.
Any help?
