Please don't do that, not only is it annoying to those that get notifications about the thread, it makes the assumption that the issue has been forgotten about or is being ignored.
In this FOSS project, like most others, contributors work on what they want to work on, when they want to work on it, because it is fun and interesting for them to do so. No one gets paid. There are no bounties on bugs or features to be won.
In short, this translates to: "Your issue will get fixed if/when it gets fixed, and no sooner".
The only guaranteed method of speeding this process is to learn how to do so, and do the work yourself. If there is some reason you feel you cannot do so, remember that those reasons also applied to everyone else...before they learnt how to contribute and contributed. Not a single contributor was born into this world knowing how to code in C or ASM, they learnt how, and you can too...everyone can.
