Database won't build
« on: November 27, 2012, 07:42:21 AM »
Hi,

I have been using rockbox on my clip+ for about 5 months but I'm now having problem building the database. I have just updated to a 64gb micro sd and change the files on it. The database was working fine until I needed to make a change to my folder organization and re-initialize the database. Only now, the database "building" always gets stuck with the message : Building database... 2 found (OFF to return)". I have tried to create a metadata log but I can't find the actual log to see if it is a particular file that makes it crash.

Can anyone help me?
Thank you

The metadata log should be in a file called metadata.log in the root of the device.

There was no Root folder in my installation. Even by showing invisible files on  OSX.
Anyway I have just formated the clip+ and reinstalled everything. It is now working fine.

Terribly sorry, you seem to have misunderstood.

There isn't supposed to be a "Root" folder, nor was gevaerts suggesting there should be. "The root of the device" is the topmost level of the directory structure, not a directory itself.
For example, if your device was mounted as "Z:\", the path to the file you seek would be:

Z:\metadata.log

Using PMs to annoy devs about bugs/patches is not a good way to have the issue looked at.
