make Rockbox place cursor on "resume playback" menu item on startup
Crafty:
Don't press after power-up..... press [Home].
If in Main Menu [Home] goes to WPS and that will start playback.
If you're not in Main Menu [Home] press will put you in Main Menu.
AlexP:
On most targets (those with enough buttons) just pressing play will restart playback from (nearly) wherever you are in one press.
sansara:
Oh yes indeed, the "home" button. Thanks a lot! It didn't appear to me to try that one. Did I miss something in the docs?..
I guess we can mark this one as solved. Can I try to put that helpful information into the manual somehow?
("pause"/"play" button does not work because it is in use as "up" button in that situation.)
(I was just about to argue how preselecting a menu item feels cleaner than having to abort playback...)
JdGordon:
There is also an option to reorder the main menu which would let you put "resume playback" at the top of the list which would do the same. (I could also maybe add an option to choose the initial selection).

It is in the manual. What device do you have? Maybe it is missing from that one.
