Archos Jukebox Recorder v2 Won't Turn On

Hi,

I'm coming here for some help about my Archos Jukebox Recorder v2. It simply won't turn on. It's been through a couple moves but has otherwise remained in a drawer. Last time I tried it, it turned on fine. Now, when I try it, I get no lights, no nothing (using the same adapter as I always have).

I don't know what to try first. Thoughts, please?

Make sure the batteries are good and charged up.

Oh, I should have mentioned that I plugged it in overnight, to no avail. Shouldn't I see something when it's plugged into the wall? Or did it go too long without a charge and now doesn't want to charge up?

You need to check that the batteries are OK. Also, try using new rechargeable batteries in the Archos. Using old batteries that have high internal resistance or won't hold their charge is the most likely reason your Archos isn't working.

Oh I see, that's encouraging.

I guess I need to figure out how to take it apart and replace the batteries... Any pointers on that?

Oh, sorry, I was thinking you had a v1 recorder like mine - I see that yours is a v2.

There used to be some information on the RockBox Wiki about disassembling a v2. Searching there might turn up something.

Are you the original owner?  If so, would you be so kind as to last the AC adapter model # and the specs listed on it (wattage, voltage, etc).
