Long Submenu - Playlist. Suggestion for file navigation.

Is it possible to add a ".." as in "cd .." to the bottom of the submenu Playlist so that you can go down a directory. When driving or in a work situation where I need to keep my eyes on what I'm doing, I'd like to be able to navigate through my files without having to look at my MP3 player (clip + or zip), or with quick glances. A long press of the Submenu takes me into the Playlist, but I can't go into other directories. A .. at the bottom of the Playlist would mean I can select that to go down a level and then use the up and down keys to choose another directory.

No, file navigation has nothing to do with the playlist menu.

Then perhaps a Menu option to "allow file navigation via the Long Submenu", or a way to switch between multiple Playlists via the Long Submenu?

that doesnt sound like something that would have much support, but if thats what you always want then doing a custom build should be simple.

My view is that long submenu should be the hotkey button so everyone can choose what they want.

I've programed the talking Shortcuts.txt menu to goto files and playlists dir.
It's in the manual.  Not to bad if you know old dos file structure and leave the power off during re-boot to clear the old Shortcuts.txt

I run everything with that Shortcut menu. [long Home]
