Installation / Removal > Rockbox Utility

Sansa ClipZip

(1/1)

spaarks:
I ran the Rockbox Utility, along with the latest Sansa .bin boot file, clpza.bin
No files were transferred to the ClipZip, so...

I did manual install with the latest ZipClip development file.
The rockbox folder copied to the ClipZip OK.
Copied the font files to the rockbox folder.

Safely removed the ClipZip and switched off..
Switched on, but the device just boots up on the Sansa firmware.

Any ideas oin what I might be doing wrong?

Thanks

saratoga:
That probably means you didn't install the bootloader.  But don't do the manual install. If you couldn't get the automatic install to work, you aren't going to succeed at the more complicated manual install.

Go back to the automatic installer, try again, and report what happens.

spaarks:
OK, I deleted the rockbox folder from the Clip, then ran the rockbox utility again, including the clipza.bin bootloader.
The utility reported "Package in stallation finished successfully".
But no rockbox folder in the ClipZip.

saratoga:
Did you disable showing hidden files on your computer?

Did you install both Rockbox and a bootloader?

spaarks:
Sorry, my fault. I didn't have the ClipZip selected as the mountpoint.
Now installed ok.

Thanks for your help.
