Minidisc Post Track Silence
« on: November 05, 2012, 04:49:20 AM »
i still own a minidisc player and create discs for my car. the problem is, when recording there need to be a silence of 2 sec after a track, so the player can automatically split to a new track. it would be great to set a post track silence in rockbox.

Lots of PC software can do this. Is it really something that would be useful on an mp3 player?

Only my opinion of course, but I'd be really surprised if this made it in.  We have enough options without adding such a niche one.

Wouldn't it make more sense to use a PC as the source though?  Lots of software can insert the gaps automatically.

While I don't see a point in such a feature you can always put a 2sec silence track on the player and insert it after each track :)

minidisc and pc are in separate locations, so i have to use my rockbox.

i know this is an exotic feature proposal, but it is not senseless at all, would not be a hard task to do (i guess) and i believe it could be useful not for minidiscs only.

You're welcome to grab our source code and implement this yourself, but since its not generally useful to other people we won't include this in our builds.
