Clip+ 8 gb runs buggy with 8gb sdhc
« on: October 30, 2012, 06:38:10 PM »
I recently installed Rockbox, it's awesome. Only problem I have with it is that the 8gb sd card (class 6) is recognized and all, but not read well or consistently or whatever like it used to work in OF. Now I kind of don't wanna go back to sandisk firmware as, yeah it's alright but rockbox just rocks. and everything sounds better. So the symptom is that it plays ferociously well full albums from internal mem, but reading from sd it can barely finish a whole track before crashing. When it hangs, there's always the icon in the top row, far right, indicating it's reading / dying trying.
Anybody recognize this or got a clue what to do? Re-format or scan for wack ID3 tags or sth?

I don't think you can do much short of use a different SD card or the Sandisk firmware.

Presumably the OF has no problems playing anything on the sd card ?

The trick is to get a clue what is causing the problem.

From your description it seems like RB cannot read the card properly. but the OF can.

I'm stumped as i've got a 64GB card working just fine in RB on a 8GB clip+, would not expect a mere 8GB card to have any trouble.

What brand of card is it and have you ever re-formatted it ?
