Recovering Accessibility to the Sansa Clip+ Hard Drive

Could someone explain to me the instructions listed on the SansaAMSUnbrick page?

I lost access to the hard drive of the player (it shows up as my H Drive, but is not accessible and cannot be formatted), and I think that using the instructions on the page will help. Could somebody explain to me exactly what to do (both to the hardware and software) in layman's terms?
