DosBOX?
(1/1)

Ok, I know i'm probably pushing it with all the ideas and stuff i've been posting, and don't get me wrong, I love rockbox... As a mater of fact, i specifically keep my mp3 players restrained to the ones with supported rockbox builds... So i just try to think of ways to make it better... Anyway... There are quite a few things that I love to do on the go that would normally require a computer (Partially what provoked my idv3 tag editor post)... But i can't most of the time... So i'm requesting a port of DosBox which utilizes the virtual keyboard to be included... My idea is not for it to bee used as a viewer... but more like a shell... There could be a folder in the root of the internal memory which you could copy DOS executables into to run as commands... and, of course, it has the added advantage of running DOS games, although it's obvious that a lot of people wouldn't want to do that IMO... But yeah... It would allow you to copy files from one place to another, format the memory card, Pretty much anything Dos could do... Albeit it would drain the battery pretty quickly... Just me putting the idea out there.

FYI, we don't take requests, so if you want this you should work on it yourself. That said, this is probably feasible, although I suspect lack of CPU power would limit you to fairly simple applications.

I was just putting the idea out there to see if anyone cared enough to want it. I honestly don't care if it gets added or not, because i can wait until i get to a computer, AND i'm working on the "Rockbox Sync Agent"and an idv3 editor plugin atm... So i couldn't work on it even if i cared enough to... I just wanted to get the idea out there... If nobody else does it, i might start that later... But for now, it's not important enough or widespread enough for me to take on a third task. I hope i'm not abusing the forums with all these posts...
Edit1: edited to finish my thought, and to add this note that it was edited and the reason
