Hey all, figured it was time to stick Rockbox on my Fuze, and so I did.
However, I'm having a problem with the unicode functionality: For some reason, Rockbox isn't displaying the tags correctly. I've got the "default codepage" set to UTF-8 and I've tried both unifont and 13-Fixed. I've also tried copying the cabbiev2 WPS theme into a .wps file that I am sure is encoded in UTF-8, but that didn't fix it either. It does fine reading and displaying filenames, but when it comes to reading and displaying unicode tags like title and artist, it all comes up as a bunch of
's. I'm not sure what to do about it, and my elaborate Google-fu-ing hasn't turned up anything useful.
Can anyone help me with this? If I can't fix it I'll probably have to switch back to the default Fuze firmware because having a bunch of
's as tags really bothers me.
Edit: Interesting discovery, .wma files with unicode tags read just fine. It's specifically .mp3 that's not reading correctly.
I wasn't even aware I had any .wma files until I did some digging around.
