Sansa Clip+ stuck on "Scanning disk"

(1/1)

ramjet:
I've just bought a Sansa Clip+ off ebay following which I tried it out and found the volume wouldn't go loud enough (I'm old & slightly deaf ;)) So a quick internet search later I thought I'd try RockBox.  One quick install later and the player is now bricked as when you turn it on it sits with a screen saying "Scanning Disk" forever (well it's been over an hour now)

So my first question is why is this disc scan not timing out ?

After this I've tried powering the unit off and connecting via USB but it still goes into this damned disk scan.

So my second question is can I do anything to bypass the disk scan either when I power the player on ? or when I connect via USB ?

In fact is there anything I can do to get the bloody thing back into a usable stae ? or should I simply take a hammer to it ?

saratoga:
That usually means the file system is corrupted.  Reboot into the sandisk firmware and check the disk for errors.
