Having trouble reformatting Sansa Clip memory card

I reformatted on my Linux pc using ext4 FS. On my pc the files on the card show up but in the player they do not show up. I then learned that I need to format as fat32...correct? I did format it one time a while back by using the format option on the Clip. However, now that option is nowhere to be found. My linux  pc has a program called "disk handler" which offers formating of different FSs but the is no fat32, only fat. What should I do?

Basically for "large" devices (more than a few hundred MB), "fat" always means "fat32"
