Rockbox General > Rockbox General Discussion
Sweet!
Primefalcon:
I was just thinking of exchangin my Ipod nano 1G for the newest Ipod nano... that was until I found out about rockbox!.... now I am keeping this 1st gen! that video playback is too dang sweet!
I do have a question though for the devs, if the devs read this.... I have heard you are planning on transitioning to an app inside of devices like smart phones and such... does this mean you may just end support of devices like the ipod nano?

No, why would it?
It is also worth noting that there's no "transition" being made, Rockbox as an Application already exists and it exists alongside targets where Rockbox is a full firmware replacement. In other words: "Don't worry, no one is dropping support for anything".

Sweet, would be interested when a Linux (particularly Ubuntu) version becomes available as well. (rasberry pi + Ubuntu + rockbox would be FTW)
AlexP:
You could run either the simulator or the sdl port on it right now, but neither are particularly suited to a stand alone media player IMO.
