Reverse Channel Option please.

Way back in April 2011 I suggested adding a channel swap feature to Rockbox's otherwise complete channel settings.  Such an odd hole.

The feature was coded and momentarily committed by someone (can't remember who) about December 2011 but withdrawn as a feature freeze was in place for v3.10.

Can I plead for its implementation.  It sounds (to a non-coder!) like a pretty easy feature to add.

I know that there will be the usual people saying just reverse the headphones, but this is both inconvenient, and doesn't work with asymmetrical headphones.

I've done a search of the forum, and there have been a continual smattering of questions about being able to do this for various reasons:
 - asymmetric hearing (includes but not confined to me).  Sometimes to hear an instrument more clearly I need to swap channels briefly.
 - someone with reversed channel defect in their headphones wanted to "fix" it by swapping channels in Rockbox
 - an assortment of swapped channel issues on various players
 - the occasional swapped channel fault in Rockbox or one of its plugins which could be temporarily fixed with a swap option.

So please, if someone could implement this, I would be very grateful.

I committed that.  And I also reverted it because everyone made fun of how poorly I implemented it (didn't realize we could have just flipped the pointers rather then using memcpy). 

If someone wants to commit this, then go for it.  I don't have time at the moment though.

Hello, my IEM earphones HiFiMan RE-262 have non-symetrical design. When they are used over the ear it is needed to swap left and right earphone and then channels are reversed during listening.

I found many requests from the previous years asking to enable to swap channels. Please implement this feature, I'm sure there are people awaiting it.

There are also many reissue albums that have the channels swapped. While this should ideally be fixed during ripping, many rippers don't even include the option.
I think it would be best if there was a possibility to activate the option for certain folders only, maybe by placing an empty file named .swapchannels inside them.

Post a patch and it will be considered. People stating over and over again that they want something like that doesn't get the work done, nor is it motivating for others to do the work.

We have a bunch of patches for this.  I've reminded bertrik and jhmikes about committing them.
