Auto-contrast change for night viewing.
« on: August 30, 2012, 01:32:02 AM »
I'd like the ability to auto-set the contrast BRIGHTNESS (for those that still don't understand Menu/Settings/General Settings/Display/LCD Settings/BRIGHTNESS) a much lower setting for night viewing, say between 11PM & 6AM. Then during the other hours it's at a higher brightness level for daylight viewing.

I have bad eyesight. At night time when using it in bed I have to hold it right up to my eyeball to read it and going up and down five levels of Menu settings every night is not something I would prefer to do.

Either that or a quick brightness level toggle as per this thread, where the suggestion is a Day/Night Mode:

I am personally not in favour of adding a specific option for this.

I can imagine that we make screen brightness part of a theme (in my view, a theme contains all aspects of the user interface). In that case you could have a "day" time and "night" theme that you can switch between.
