How do I get rid of LAST.FM adds?
« on: August 29, 2012, 08:23:54 AM »
I was happily listening to the songs I put on my player and enjoying the new Rockbox options (Gain control via Foobar 2000) when all the sudden I get a commercial!

Is there a way to remove the Last.FM stuff from the player?

Rockbox doesn't have advertising. I have no idea what you're asking about, but it has nothing to do with Rockbox functionality.

Are you mentioning the Last.fm log file?

If you are, go to Settings>Playback Settings>Last.fm Log>No. For this to take place, reboot your device. You can also get rid of the .scrobbler file by opening the context menu and pressing delete.

No I actually get a commercial (I was wrong, it was SLOT Radio), but mid stream in my day at times, all the sudden I get a commercial with a few 15 second sound bytes from U2 and a few other bands (maybe Tom Petty) and an ad to sign up for slot radio. After it's done it goes back to my normal music.

The sandisk website has a slot radio add you can download onto your player.  Its not in a format rockbox understands, though, so you probably can't listen to it in rockbox.

It's just an audio file somewhere on the player, that comes preinstalled by the original firmware. When you initialised the database, or created a playlist, in rockbox, it found that file as well as all the music you put on there, because it doesn't know it's "special". Just find the slotradio ad file and delete it.
