Bookmarking: play next file when completed

(1/1)

EvanG:
Hello guys, first post here so hello!

I use latest Rockbox version on a Sansa Clip+. Mostly for audiobooks.

I would like to propose a feature regarding bookmarking and resuming.

1) When I turn on the player and click "resume playback", it goes back to the last file and resumes where I left off. Good. But when that file ends, the player stops. I often lose track what file I listened to, and from what folder.

I would like it if the player: a) went on to play the next file in the folder b) at least offer an option to tell me what the last file was and take me there so I can go to the next.

2) Similar with manual bookmarking. Remember the location of the file so I can go on to the next one in line.

Thanks!

It does continue on to the next file in the folder for me, and always has.  Perhaps you have some option enabled that pauses or stops after each track?

In addition, if you enable the follow playlist option then when you go back to the file browser it will be where it currently is in the playlist.

EvanG:
Thank you, maybe you are correct, it sometimes moves to the next track after bookmarking or resuming. But -I think- the problem is that when the last file of that folder is finished, the player stops and returns to the home screen. So if I lose track of the last file and folder I was in.

There may be a simple way to return to last file played, haven't looked yet. But without this function I have to remember what folder I was in the last time (think of audiobooks separated into multiple folders).

Thanks
