Clip+ dead after 3 days?

I received my Clip+ from Amazon only 3 days ago and just now it seems to have died. It must have had at least 90% battery and now the screen won't illuminate, it isn't detected via USB whatsoever, and there is no sound from the headphones. I guess that's it for this one?
The only out-of-the-ordinary things I did (other than installing Rockbox) was a repartition and FAT32 reformat about 8 hours ago. It worked fine after that though. I also may have connected it to USB via a different USB cable today. It was the FOXL powered speaker's USB cable which is longer and has a larger ferrite bead but the same USB plug shape.
Also the 3.5mm cable I use creates a very tight connection with the Sansa and it died as I was disconnecting the cable, although I can't be sure whether or not it was already dead because the screen was already off. Maybe I torqued the Sansa's body too much?

It sounds like it has crashed with the screen off. You'll need to leave it a few days for the battery to run down, then it should be fine again. I'd recommend then installing the latest dev build as the bug causing this should be fixed.

I just edited my original post to include some more info.
I saw that you posted this info in another thread but that guy had noise from his connected headphones after the crash. Mine could be a crash even though there is no headphones noise?
How long could it take to run out of battery with the screen off? Could I be in for a very long wait?
Can the latest dev build be installed via the Rockbox Utility on Linux?

If it is this, then the battery could take a few days to die.
You can install the latest dev build with Rockbox Utility.

Thanks! The battery ran out surprisingly quickly so I installed the dev version and I'm back in business.
