Clip+ post-install questions
(1/1)
rockboxrocks:
First of all, thank you for this excellent software. I've installed Rockbox on my Clip+ via Gentoo Linux and I have a few questions.
My directory structure includes "##MUSIC#" and another similar one. Why does this folder exist separately from "MUSIC"?
I get an error about illegal characters in some of my filenames. Is there a way around this?
How can I get rid of the promotional Sansa track? I can't find it in the filesystem.
For the best sound, should the volume be set to 0db?
Post Merge: August 22, 2012, 04:34:25 AMI re-partitioned and reformatted my player and reinstalled Rockbox and now my first and third questions are solved. I read the manual and answered my fourth question, and I realize my second question is really a Linux question.

AlexP:
1) ##MUSIC## etc are down to the Sansa firmware. delete them, keep them, whatever you want.
2) Rename your files to only use characters allowed on FAT.
3) You could probably find it in one of the two USB modes in the Sansa firmware, or just delete all the sansa folders.
4) You should set the volume to a comfortable listening level
5) Which part of the manual are you referring to?

I ended up using picard to rewrite the filenames. It works great and has an option to replace Windows-incompatible characters.
