I cant get 80GB 6G IPOD into DFU mode.

Hello,

I have installed rockbox before but never on this ipod, I was excited to see it was available.

I have a 80GB 6G ipod Classic, which doesn't seem to respond to menu + select.  If I press and hold them the screen eventually dims but this is just due to inactivity (rather than reboot) the ipod it still on at the main menu.

I have tried plugging it into wall power, doesn't change anything - its fully charged.  I also tried an itunes restore, which works fine, however, still menu+select doesn't work.
The lock switch is not on, this ipod is otherwise fully functioning and both Select and Menu buttons work individually.

To make sure I am doing things correctly I tried it on my friends ipod (same model) and it worked straight away no problems.

I can't seem to find anyone else with this issue and find it hard to believe my ipod is special.

Any help much appreciated.
