Sansa Zip/Rockbox only plays one file even if I click another

I have mp3s in folders and individually. When I play a file in a folder there is no problem. If I click on a stand-alone file, no matter which one I click on, I always hear the same file play (not the file I clicked on). Its as if the links in my file list all point to the same file.
I have done the "initialize now" and I held the off button for 30 seconds (if that works on Rockbox).
What should I do?

Are you using the file browser or database browser?

So if you click on a file, a different one plays?  Does this happen for all files or only some of them?

No matter which file I play (Not file that are in folders, though), the same old file plays. If I click file "A", file "C" plays. If I click file "B", file "C" plays.

If I use the "data base" I do not have this problem. Just if I use the "file" system.

This sounds a little bit like Play Selected First is set to No (http://download.rockbox.org/daily/manual/rockbox-sansaclipzip/rockbox-buildch7.html#x10-1170007.3) but the fact that it always plays the *same* song is a little bit confusing.
How exactly are you "play"ing the files? If it's highlighting a file and pressing Play then it might be resuming the previous playlist instead of creating a new one. Could you talk through what actions you're performing?

Turns out that the problem was the particular file that kept playing. I deleted it and everything is fine now. What the...?
