Sandisk Sansa Fuze - USB file copy
« on: August 09, 2012, 09:02:23 AM »
Ever since I installed rockbox, I have intermittent problems copying to either the internal drive or the micros SD card. These problems don't occur using the same computers cables on my E200. If I boot into the sansa firmware (power + left button) the copies are fine. There have been times when I've copied to microsd, and then used file transfer to the internal drive.

Is this a known problem, or unique to me?

The base OS is V01.02.31F

The rockbox is 3.11.2, the current stable version. Previous version exhibited same behaviour.

Is there some debug I can provide?

Mr.G

This is a known issue. Apparently, there is something weird with the way Rockbox uses the USB on the Fuze. I have 3 Fuzes (two v2s and one v1) and all of them have issues when copying from a computer--they just unmount sporadically. If the computer is just reading files off the Fuze, there's no problem. I use a portable installation of Foobar2000 as a PC jukebox, and it runs for 10 hours playing music directly off the Fuze with no unmounts.

I think Rockbox release 3.9 was safe, but I can't remember exactly.
