Yes, it makes no difference when you add album art, so long as its there when you play the file.

Regular jpeg is supported but some of the weird variants aren't. If you've got one the regular windows software will convert them.

As I said, the regular windows jpeg viewer will convert to normal jpeg.

Hi

I installed RockBox on my "unsupported" Classic 6 gen today - and its great.  It works really well.

I'm terribly disappointed that it does not support embedded album art.

If I had written a play program album art would be 3rd on my list (after play and pause).

Programs like Winamp does not sync album art like folder.jpg to a device.  Having to do this manually is unpleasant.

What are the dimensions and name required for the jpg I cannot find any info on this?

Thanks

Here's a link to the Album Art manual page for the iPod Video (the nearest target to the iPod Classic): http://download.rockbox.org/daily/manual/rockbox-ipodvideo/rockbox-buildap3.html#x19-381000C

Hi there EvilNick

Thanks for the info.  I extracted all the embeded Art with Tang&Rename (75 gigs of MP3 on USB iPOD took a long time) and converted them all to 200 x 200 jpeg quality 12 with Photoshop batch image.  Problem is that Photoshop gives very little control over the format of the jpg files.

I've often had problems with Oracle DB's being unhappy with Photoshop formats.  Maybe there's another tool which can batch resize and convert jpgs better.  Some work about half don't :(

Thanks again Nick Much appreciated :)
