How to put songs on an SD card onto a playlist
(1/1)
pwabrahams:
I have an SD card on my Sansa Clip+. I have no problem putting music on the SD card and even playing it via the Files menu, but I cannot figure out how to construct playlist entries for that music. I'm running Linux, so I construct my playlists from there (using Amarok). The problem is that the paths I construct while the Clip is plugged into the computer are not valid when the Clip is unplugged. The SD card shows up as a separate drive, and I don't know how to reference it.
saratoga:
For recent builds, if you save the playlist file on the sd card, it'll automatically correct the path to refer to the root of the SD card. Thats probably the easiest way.
pwabrahams:
Is there any way, then, to construct a playlist that includes both items from the main memory and from the SD card? And does the Playlist Catalogue include both types of playlists?

Yeah, it needs to have the absolute rockbox path, so /folder/file.mp3 for the internal memory, or /<microsd1>/folder/file.mp3 for the external memory.
pwabrahams:
So /<microsd1> is the name of the root node of the SD card, then. That solves everything.
