iriver H340 a firmware file is already present on player iriver

I am so frustrated with this. I must be missing something. I get stuck at this message "a firmware file is already present on player iriver" when I use the downloaded hex file. Do I have to delete the existing hex file on the iriver, have done this and still get the same message. I have tried manually but still get stuck at this message.

Below is the log and hopefully it will help. I have tried a couple of times to do it with no success.
Any help is greatly appreciated...must be a dummy.

The log doesn't show you trying to install the bootloader, so it's not really helpful. But you have selected c: as drive for your player ("mountpoint"), which is unlikely to be correct. Also, where did you put the downloaded hex file?

I put the hex file on the desktop of laptop. I used the auto install. Don't know how C: got selected and don't know how to change it???

Use the big "Change" button in the main window. Then select from the dropdown list in the configuration dialog.

Changed from C: to I: which is where the iriver is connected but still gets stuck at "a firmware file..." when I click on the hex file on the decktop.
