Button mapping question about iRiver H10

(1/1)

Hi, thanks for reading.  ;D

The iRiver H10 20GB has a scroll pad on the front which is used for navigating up/down in the menus.

The problem with the one I have is that the scroll pad tends to get "stuck" in the down position. Imagine scrolling up through a listing of songs. You scroll up the list to get to the song you want, but then the selection automatically jumps down a couple songs in the list as soon as you release your finger. This is a hardware problem as it did the same thing with the stock firmware before installing rockbox, it's possible some gunk got in there somehow. I haven't opened up the unit yet to try cleaning it, but I read elsewhere, the scrollpad itself is self-contained, making it difficult/impossible to clean.

Rather than hunt for replacement parts and then *try* to repair it, I would like to either re-map the up/down functionality to different buttons, or maybe adjust the sensitivity - maybe if I decreased the sensitivity it would work correctly.

Can anyone explain how to do this, or point me in a helpful direction?

Thanks again!
