Rockbox download for Sansa Clip+

Dear all

I currently have purchased a Sansa Clip + 8gb and have heard alot about how downloading/updating to Rockbox can make alot of differences. I've googled this but yet havn't found a satisfactory answer. I am therefore appealing to anyone out there who has actually tried this through their own expereince to help me download this systematically (even reference to a video clip would be great)

On the system settings info my version is the 01.02.16P which Rockbox version would be most compatible as I keep reading that often that technical difficulties arise i.e., Original Firmware Unknown etc. Do I therefore have to update my original Sansa Firmware to make the transition smoother so as to avoid a technical glitch? if so, what firmware update and how do I do this and where do I access this from? Which is the latest/compatable Rockbox that I can use and how?

Sorry for the rather dumbness; but i'm appealing to any kind person out there who can really give me a dummies guide/step by step approach. Thanking you sincerely!!!

you don't know where to download latest release of rockbox? is this what you're saying? look around this site... can't miss it
you can download automatic installer and run it then follow instructions

Hello

I know where to find the latest version of Rockbox for sure. What i'm asking is is this version be ok for my current version of firmware on my Sansa Clip + - I've heard of all sort of ongoing technical difficulties that can possibly arise.

All I'm asking is for help from someone who has done this themselves on the same unit with the same firmware without any technical glitches/consequenes whatsoever and give my a step by step approcach and backup if anything goes wrong (it usually does with me)
