Cowon D2 advanced buttons features

(1/1)

shoosh:
Hi folks

I have a D2 with non-working touch screen. The device has been reset to factory FW defaults. The only way to use it was to install rockbox FW. I can access most features with buttons. That's pretty. The only thing I want is advanced buttons behavior with Hold/Power Swith enabled -- the same as the factory FW has.
Can anyone provide any helpfull info -- manuals, cowon-specific datasheets, etc, -- that can help me solve that? Or that can be done in easier way by editing cfg files?

PS. BTW, that would be glad if someone could advice a place where I can buy a new D2 touchscreen (worldwide shipping is prefered).

Appreciate any help.
Thanks in advance.

There's a number of different patches here for different key functions under hold;

I'm not sure if they still work with trunk, the lack of any zip builds might not bode well.

You might have some luck trawling through the later posts in the following thread;

Finally, if you have no luck, I do a build once in a while for my ageing D2, which has a short press for volume/ long press for skip type patch applied (~config4?) which I could put somewhere.

I used config4 from a given link with my own cfg file and 19-nimbus font. Also deleted all language packages except english and russian.

Resulted FW can be downloaded by the link below.

Config 4 build provides:
When in WPS (with hold off):

-MINUS+MENU skips back one directory.
-PLUS+MENU skips forward one directory.
-MINUS+PLUS adds a bookmark.

When in WPS or any list screen (with hold mode on):

-MINUS decreases volume by one.
-PLUS increases volume by one.
-MENU switches between Play and Pause.
-MINUS LONG skips to the previous track.
-PLUS LONG skips to the next track.
-MENU LONG skips forward one directory.

When in FM Radio (with hold off):*

-MINUS+MENU skips back (scans if held).
-PLUS+MENU skips forward (scans if held).
-MINUS+PLUS switches between FM mode scan/preset.

When in FM Radio (with hold mode on):

-MINUS decreases volume by one.
-PLUS increases volume by one.
-MENU mutes radio
-MINUS LONG skips to the previous numerical frequency/preset (depending on FM mode).
-PLUS LONG skips to the next numerical frequency/preset (depending on FM mode).
-MENU LONG switches between FM mode scan/preset.

*Known bugs:
-When using a themed FM screen the onscreen volume controls are unresponsive.
-Directory skip doen't work when using the database to select tracks. Must go through file browser.

Also I'd like to note that sometimes the device gave me "bad checksum" error on boot. To prevent this firstly format your SD card and boot into factory FW -- this will set default volume label. Afterwards you may extract Rockbox FW.
And I've noticed strange behavior when turning off the device. Some sort of corrupted files and even corrupted filesystem on SD card. According to that I had to set SD to read-only. This left me no database (all the needed settings were previously edited so I don't need to change them), but in fact I don't even use DB.

Hope this will we helpfull for anyone.
