Difference between Equalizer and Bass/treble settings? (Sansa Clip+)
(1/1)
Bobazonski:
Besides ease of use, is there really any difference between the two options? (I read another post where someone suggested equalizer uses software and bass/treble uses hardware, at least on the clip+) The manual does not specify this information.
Also, what are the cutoff and Q values of the bass and treble settings?
Thank you
saratoga:
On the clip the bass and treble just use a fixed eq setting.
Edit: Looking at the actual code, its a 200Hz bass cut off and a 3500 treble cutoff. The prescale is computed as the max of the bass and treble.
Mach-X:
To put it simply, the EQ is there so you can flatten out the frequency response of your headphones/earphones/speakers, whereas the bass/treble controls are a much broader adjustment to allow you to 'season to taste' after you set the EQ.
