Couple of questions regarding Fuze+
« on: July 16, 2012, 06:57:14 AM »
I've read somewhere that the Fuze+ doesn't have as good sound quality as the Clip+ or Zip but I'm guessing that is probably using Sansa's firmware. Is the sound quality as good on the Fuze+ using Rockbox as with the Clip+ and Zip?

Also it's still listed as being unstable. Is this the same as with the Clip Zip where a couple of the games aren't yet optimized or is it more than that. I just use my player for music and most of the time just all my songs played shuffled so playback is all I want really but I would like to have a 16gb built in memory and have the extra battery life that the Fuze+ has.

Whoever told you that is full of shit.  The sound quality is the same if not better in my opinion.    Can't comment on battery since i haven't timed it yet.       It's relatively stable.  I sometimes get data aborts when messing with themes and it sometimes crashes when playing audio for some reason and the screen just goes black.  i reset it and it's fine.      i just formatted my micro sd and am just using the internal memory right now to see if i can duplicate the problem without the sd card in the player.       So far after listening to about 3 hours of podcasts it hasn't crashed yet.      Just copied all my music onto sd card after format so hopefully that fixes any crashes.

Thanks for posting a reply. The main complaints seem to be about the navigation and touch pad but I just select a playlist and listen. I mainly want a bigger internal memory and battery life. I'd read on the forums hear that it has a different chip-set and some reviews I've seen say the sound quality isn't as good as the clips and original fuze but it seems to be able to do what I want it to do.
