problems (database update; sd card; PANIC / ERROR CODE)

(1/1)

baracus:
HI i have different issues with rockbox

1)
whenever i try updating the databse (after i put some new stuff on) its not working right: i use UPDATE DATABASE  + INITIALIZE DATABASE functions, but after i wait a couple minutes most of the time it hangs up/crashes once i hit the menus , mostly when i try to enter the database, after i reboot and try again its mostly the same (hangs up)
how long do you have to wait normally for the background update to finish? and is there a better way to do it ?

2)
so i plugged it in the computer to see if it FINALLY got all the tracks in the database, i wanted to compare the actual mp3 with the total number in the database. but the only the player itself was shown , no sd card was visible as was usual the case. so i clicked on drive letter K: which i suspected could be the sd card. but the explorer did not respond /Crashed also. so i unmounted the player from the usb port which leads us to ...
3)
now theres a error mssg on the sandisk sansa clip + :

PANIC
MOUNT:0
bt PC 0x3004ff94 sp
bt end

what are the isssues here?

saratoga:
Does it work without the SD card?  If so, probably some trouble with your card and the SD driver.

baracus:
without the card it usually is fine

but i cant be that its too many tracks right? cause i have close to 7000 tracks - i know the limits are not reached that i chose in the options but still maybe it gets unstable with so many ?

now another problem is that after all that the sd card by itself ask for formatting, and i havent saved the files, so yet another reason for asking the reason for all this to happen
Post Merge: July 13, 2012, 01:33:01 AMits just so annoying and frustrating its the second time its happening that a sd card is crashing and not responding. the first time was in the original firmware so i switched to rockbox but still its not ok, so my guess is that the player itself has trouble getting the sd card organized ?
Post Merge: July 13, 2012, 01:55:44 AMWHAT HAPPENS WHEN I MANUALLY DELETE THE DATABASE files on the player  ? i can access the player , but not the sd card, would that help to access the sd and re build the db or would it kill all hope to access the sd card ?

Ah well then it sounds like it is indeed some problem talking to the card.

sledjunk:
I have had similar problems.  I did delete the database files and then the database rebuilt OK.
