Can Rockbox display symbols?

(1/1)

Pancake_Man:
Hi. I recently got a Sansa Clip Zip and installed Rockbox on it, after which I put a few albums on it. I put on † by Justice, but on my player the album name is just a square made out of dotted lines. Is there something I can do to fix it or does Rockbox not display symbols like that? I have installed the font pack in case that's relevant.

Thanks!

Passing that is a Unicode character and you have a font that contains it you can display anything you want. Try a font with a lot of coverage like unifont.

Thanks, unifont seems to work. The font size is pretty huge though and I have to scroll a lot to get places. Is there an option somewhere to change font size? I can't seem to find it. If not, is there a font that can display that character and isn't so big? Thank you for the help!

Check http://rasher.dk/rockbox/fontstats/ and http://rasher.dk/rockbox/fonts

You could also create your own.  http://www.rockbox.org/wiki/CreateFonts

Obscure unicode symbols don't tend to be included in many Rockbox fonts as it would make them huge.

Okay, thanks for the help. :)
