Sansa Clip + database issue

Mach-X:
That little symbol in the upper right indicates that rockbox is accessing or writing to the database. One thing not made clear in the documentation is that tracks on the microsd card you want in the database MUST be inside the 'music' folder that rockbox puts there. For whatever reason, this doesn't apply to internal storage, you can put files in the root and they will show up in the db. Not the case for microsd, they MUST be contained in that music folder.

Excuse me? What music folder? Rockbox does no such thing.

AlexP:
Also, that symbol is to say that Rockbox is writing to disk, not the database specifically.

Rockbox does NOT place a music folder on the external card.

You can place your music anywhere in any folder you want on the external card.

Please, don't give out wrong information.

I was having a similar problem and it was related to a specific uSD card.  This card was a Class 2 8GB card.  When I replaced it with another card that was class 4 (or higher), the problem disappeared.  I reformatted the original card and reloaded it.  The problem appeared again.  I am not sure if it is related to this particular card, or the speed of the card.  I will try again with another class 2 card to verify.

What speed (class) is your card?
