Sansa Clip + database issue

(1/2) > >>

baracus:
hi
when i insert the micro cd card it normally should update the database right ? how and when can you make it to update the database ? cause if i go DATABASE > ARTISTS > ALL ARTISTS > ALL.... it should make a playlist of all files on the player+card right? but everytime i do this it does a database scan and comes up with a different amount of tracks found each time...sometimes i get 300 tracks sometimes 3000. so it only finds part of the files from the sd card
can i manually delete the database.tcd files maybe so it will start a clean file search to build the database ?

another thing
i assume the flash/arrow symbol in the upper right corner stands for the microsd flash memory card being inserted ? if so, the symbol is there all the time, with or w/o the card being there

my guess is that i should reboot or reset or so right ? if so how can i reset

and otherwise how can i start shuffle mode ? for all tracks -not just in one folder-

Depends if you have the database set to update automatically.

baracus:
yes i have, also i use "update now" it will not change

can somebody tell me step by step how to make the database and access the complete database
and also how to do the shuffle mode w/ all the tracks?

saratoga:
If the disk icon is still active, maybe the database isn't fully updated when you're building the playlist?  That might explain why you have different numbers of files each time.

baracus:
the drive icon is always active , maybe i am looking at the wrong place ?
is there a place i can check the total number of tracks in the database ?
i guess the database is completely browsable with all tracks there, only if i wanna list ALL ARTISTS it scans and comes up with a different result each time, i guess it automaically builds a playlist each time you browse ALL ARTISTS in the database!? (like mentioned - is there another way maybe to playback in shuffle mode WITH all tracks ??)
can i reset the firmware somehow ? i havent found such a feature
Post Merge: July 02, 2012, 03:28:55 PMcan i delete the database files on the rockbox folder ? or will it crash the whole system?
maybe then i can re setup the database correctly?
Post Merge: July 02, 2012, 04:00:19 PMi solved the issues, after some further experimentation the player crashed and reset itself, after that the database could build itself properly

what is the symbol in the upper right hand side btw ? now its dissappeared, but before it was there all the time, its a flash symbol - i thought it was the sd card ?!
